Manasulu Region
Manasulu area rich with natural and
cultural heritage. It was opened for the trekkers very recently.
The trek beginning from Gorkha. From Gorkha, the historical
city, where Pritthivi Narayan Shah unified Nepal in 1769,
we follow the Budhi Gandaki to his spring, in between the
Gorkha and Ganesh Himal until we cross the Larkya La (5105
m) to make the circle around the Manaslu Himal (8163 m). Many
6000 - 7000 m high peaks surround our trek up to Tibetan settlements
in dramatic and remote areas of the Nepalese Himalaya. The
home Country of great Gurkha Army has a mixed culture of Hindus
and Buddhist. In spite of rugged and steep trails and high
altitude sickness problems this trek can be regarded the perfect
alternate to the highly crowded treks like in Annapurna and
Everest region. A special permit is required for the trek,
which has to be accompanied by a liaison officer. The trek
ends at Beshi Sahar or Pokhara.
