Chulu East/West
Chulu East is located at the north
of Pokhara, above the Manang valley. The trekking route has
breathtaking views across the Annapurnas II, III and IV, Gangapurna,
Glacier Dome, Dhaulagiri, Tilicho Peak and Manaslu. This peak
is ranked amongst the finest of Nepal’s trekking peaks by
offering a spectacular view of Annapurnas to climbers. Climbers
can reach the top and back to the Base Camp in one long day
although some had, in the past, established a higher camp
somewhere below the peak. Another subsidiary peak called Chulu
Far East (6059m/19880ft) may also be attempted from this approach.
