Everest
base camp & Gokyo trekking
This
challenging trek to the Everest Base Camp takes you through
some of the most glorious mountain scenery in all the Himalayas
to Gokyo Lake. This high-altitude alpine trek explores the heart
of the Sherpa homeland, visiting Namche Bazaar and Thyangboche
before ascending to the stunning Gokyo Valley to the glacial
lakes under the great peak of Cho Oyu (8153m). This trek offers
a unique climb to Gokyo Ri (5,488m/18,000ft) for a panoramic
view of the greatest mountain scenery in the world - including
five 8000+m/26,000+ft giants and myriad peaks of the Khumbu
Himal. The journey will come to an end at Lukla airstrip then
we will fly back to Kathmandu.
Itinerary
Start
from: Lukla fly from Katmandu.
Cultural: Buddhism [sherpa] Buddhist monasteries
& Hinduism.
Max. Altitude: Kalapather - 5545 m.
Grade: Moderate & Challenging
Mountains: Number Himal, kwangde. Gaurishankar,
Amadablam. Mt Everest, khumbu range, pumori and Rolwaling range
etc.
Ending point: Lukla to Katmandu.
Possibility: Camping & tea house both possible.
Day 01
Katmandu – Lukla By fly and trek to Phakding
Day 02 Phakding – Namche
Day 03 Namche rest for acclimatization and look around Syangboche.
Day 04 Namche – Tengboche (we can see the Buddhist monastery)
Day 05 Tengboche – Dingboche
Day 06 Dingboche rest for acclimatization.
Day 07 Dingboche – Lobuche
Day 08 Lobuche – Kalapattar (5545m) from where we can see the
Mt. Everest very near and clearly then back to Lobuche and camp.
Day 09 Lobuche – Zongla
Day 10 Zonggla – Thangna
Day 11 Thangna – Gokyo Lake which is very nice lake on the such
a like this high (4750m) place.
Day 12 Gokyo Lake – Gokyo peak and climb down to Gokyo Lake.
Day 13 Gokyo Lake – Dole
Day 14 Dole – Namche
Day 15 Namche – Lukla
Day 16 Lukla to Katmandu by fly.
