Kanchanjunga area trekking (Kanchanjunga trek)

Kanchanjungha (8586m), the third highest peak in the world lies on the eastern border of Nepal with India. Several other peaks in the Kanchenjunga range are over 8000m.The trek to this area is probably the best that trekking has to offer in terms if lush natural beauty. So we invite you to trek in one of the most remote and beautiful areas in Nepal which still lies surrounded in mystery:

Kanchenjunga. The area is abundant with wildlife, as inhabitation consists of only scattered villages. . The main approach along the eastern side of the Himalayan (range) to the northern base camp takes us among an avenue of peaks that frequently appear in adventure catalogues and brochures. Exotic name such as Wedge peak, Pyramid peak, Janu Himal, White Wave, the Twins and, of course, Kanchenjunga provide the inspiration to make the challenging trek to base camp. Our approach takes us up through terraced hillsides of the remoter ethnic group of Rai and Limbu and then among well-preserved forest of rhododendron, birch oak and spruce. From this region you can see magnificent views of Mt. Everest, Makalu and Kanchanjunga massif will make the trip memorable.

Start from: Hile, 20 hours bus drive from Katmandu, or Tumlingtar 45 minutes flying from Katmandu
Cultural: Buddhism & Hinduism
Max. Altitude: Lopsang - 5932 m.
Grade: Moderate & easy.
Mountains: Kanchenjunga, Makalu, Mt Everest, and other ranges
Possibility: Camping only.
Ending point: Taplejung / Hile / Tumlingtar.

Day 01 Kathmandu- Taplejung by Plane and by walk to Lali Kharka
Day 02 Lali Kharka – Khesewa
Day 03 Khesewa – Mamankhe
Day 04 Mamankhe – Yanphudin
Day 05 Yamphudin – Chittre
Day 06 Chittre – Torontan
Day 07 Torantan – Tseram
Day 08 Tseram – Ramze
Day 09 Ramze One day excursion to Yalung Glacier & Oktang Base Camp (5525m). & back to Ramze
Day 10 Ramze – Tseram
Day 11 Tseram – Milgin La pass to Sanmung Khola
Day 12 Sanmung khola – Sinion La pass (4854m) and Sinion Kharka nears the riverside camp.
Day 13 Sinion Kharka - Ghunsa
Day 14 Ghunsa – Rampuk Kharka
Day 15 Rampuk Kharka – Ramtang
Day 16 Ramtang – Lhonak
Day 17 Lhonak one day excursion to Kangchan junga glacier & Pangpema BC then back to Lhonak
Day 18 Lhonak – Rampuk Kharka
Day 19 Rampuk Kharka – Phere
Day 20 Phere – Amjilasa
Day 21 Amjilasa – Sokathom
Day 22 Sokathom – Chirwa
Day 23 Chirwa – Mitlung
Day 24 Mitlung – Taplejung
Day 25 Taplejung to Kathmandu by Plane
