Rolwaling Trekking

Rolwaling trek offers a fascinating experience in walking at the west of the Everest and the Tibetan border. The trek covers many hidden valleys and high altitude passes. The trails over glaciers between high mountains provide magnificent panoramic scenery with more than thirty mountains over 6000m. This area has an excellent habitat for a wide variety of plants and animals. Also there are many mysterious stories concerning the valley which the forefathers of the present-day Sherpa's once inhabited. It is here that the notorious and celebrated Yeti is supposed to make his home. However, entire research expeditions attempting to find him have so far been unsuccessfully. Besides, the area offers a wide range of Nepali culture, which reflected by Tibetans. The area includes many ancient monasteries and colorful festival.

Itinerary

Start from: Barhabise full day drive from Katmandu.
Cultural: Buddhism [sherpa] Buddhist monasteries & Hinduism.
Max. Altitude: Parcharmo Peak (6272m)
Grade: Moderate & Challenging
Mountains: Gaurishankar, Amadablam. Mt. Everest, Khumbu range, Pumori and Rolwaling range etc.
Ending point: Lukla, Flight to Katmandu.
Possibility: Camping & tea house both possible.

Day 01 Kathmandu – Barhabise by drive
Day 02 Barhabise - Sidrothan
Day 03 Sidrothan - Dolangsa
Day 04 Dolangsa - Bigugompa
Day 05 Bigugompa - Laduk
Day 06 Laduk - Gongar
Day 07 Gongar (Jagat) - Simigaon
Day 08 Simigaon – Daldung La
Day 09 Daldung La - Beding.
Day 10 Beding – Na
Day 11 Na Rest for acclimatization (4183m)
Day 12 Na - Tsho Rolpa Lake
Day 13 Tsho rolpa Lake - Glacier
Day 14 From Glacier – Tashi puk (High camp) (5755m)
Day 15 Climb up to the Parcharmo Peak (6272m) and climb down to Base camp (Nakle)
Day 16 Nakle – Thengpo
Day 17 Thengpo –Thame
Day 18 Thame – Namche Bazaar
Day 19 Namche Bazaar – Phakding
Day 20 Phakding – Lukla
Day 21 Lukla to Kathmandu by Plane.
